The UC
EAP office will correspond with you during the application
and admission process. After you have been admitted to UCSB and
you have confirmed your intent to enroll, your PERM number and
PIN information will then be e-mailed to you.

in the area (if necessary).

Apply for a Health
insurance waiver with Student
Health, (if necessary).
- Prepare for Registration:
- Access GOLD to get your Appointment time for registering.
- Prepare a Registration
Worksheet.
- View the Online Schedule of Classes
for times and course offerings.
- View the Online General
Catalog for course descriptions and prerequisites (also
available through GOLD).

Consult with your academic advisor at your home campus for
course selections.

Register on GOLD at your assigned appointment time. (DOWNLOAD:

Activate your U-Mail. U-Mail is
UCSB's official student email service to which university business
correspondence will be sent. If you already have an email account
that you would rather use, you can have your U-Mail forwarded
to your preferred email address. To register for your UCSBnetID,
which also activates your U-Mail account, click

Pay your fees from your BARC
statement by the deadline. Although your fees and tuition are
billed through the EAP
office, you will still be responsible for any misc. fees which
are listed on your BARC
statement from UCSB. Health insurance fees will appear on most
Billing statements, unless you file a waiver. The EAP
office will often arrange for payment, but if the deadline
approaches and it is still not paid, contact the BARC
office.

Review your Personal Information on GOLD.
(Changes should be reported to the Registrar’s office.)

- Take Placement Exams (if
necessary).
- Go to ACCESS
center to get your Student ID card.
- Attend Orientation
for New and Returning students (if necessary).
- Figure out how to get around: Parking
permits, Bus
service, Bike
registration.
- If you are an international
student, get information about services, immigration issues,
and opportunities to share your culture with others.
