Policies and frequently asked questions about ordering an official transcript.

Ordering a Transcript:

      *Prior to 1987, UCSB transcripts appeared in an older format, which all schools still accept.  These records can be converted to a newer format which will include the GPA, if it is required by the receiving party.  Contact our office prior to submitting your order, if you need this conversion. Please allow a minimum of four weeks for this conversion process.


Official Transcripts are available for $15.00 each, effective January 1, 2009*, and may be ordered with the following delivery options:

Regular Mail Service: $15
Included in the $15.00 fee per transcript, a printed official transcript will be sent by regular mail service to the recipient and address indicated in the order. Please allow 3-5 business days to process your request prior to actual shipping. Additional copies may be ordered for $15.00 each, sent to the same address.
Next Day Pick-Up Service: $25
For an additional $10.00 in addition to the $15.00 per transcript fee, our office will process an official transcript to be picked-up by the student at the Registrar’s Office. Orders must be received by 7:00 p.m Pacific time in GOLD or through Credentials Solutions, our third-party credit card vendor, for the printed official transcript to be available for next day pick-up. If your order is processed manually from a paper request form, it may take an additional day to print your transcript. Transcripts ordered for pick-up will be available after 1:00 p.m. the next business day. Transcripts not picked-up within 5 business days after they are printed will be destroyed.
Rush Mail Service: $25

For an additional $10.00 per address in addition to the $15.00 per transcript fee, our office will process and deposit your transcripts into First class mail within 1-2 business days after receiving the request and payment. 

Fax Service: $40    

We will fax an official transcript for $15.00 within 1-2 business days after receiving the request and payment in addition to a hard copy for $15.00 sent by mail to the same recipient of the fax, as indicated in the order. A rush fee of $10.00 is also included in this service. Be sure to include both a complete fax number and complete address where the transcript is to be mailed.

Transcripts faxed by the UCSB Office of the Registrar are official, however it is up to the discretion of the receiving party or institution whether they will accept a faxed transcript and consider it official.

Federal Express Service: $41 (Domestic Only)

For an additional $26.00 per address, in addition to the $15.00 per transcript fee, transcripts are processed and sent by Federal Express within 1-2 business days after receiving the request and payment.  No P.O. Boxes or International deliveries.

We do not accept pre-paid air bills.

If international delivery by FedEx is required, orders must be placed online through our third-party vendor Credentials Solutions (additional fees will apply).

Attachments

You may include documents that are required from other institutions as an attachment to be sent along with your official transcript or verification. We do not fill out forms and receiving institutions understand our policy.  It is not necessary to include a return envelope. Please indicate at the time of placing your request if we should hold your order for an attachment to be included with your official transcript or verification. Attachments may be submitted by mail, fax, or in person to the Office of the Registrar. We cannot accept an attachment by email. Please note that attachments are limited to a maximum of five pages.

Attention: The Office of the Registrar will not be processing transcripts and verifications from December 24, 2009 through January 3, 2010 due to holidays and mandatory administrative office closures. All orders placed on or after December 18, 2009 may be subject to additional delays in processing time due to these office closures. Orders placed after January 8, 2010 will be handled under regular processing times http://www.registrar.ucsb.edu/tsorder.htm .
