Requesting Verifications for Federal Title IV Loan Deferments, Office of the Registrar

Specific Federal Title IV loan deferments are exempt from verification charges. To qualify, your Deferment Request form should have the following wording in the title:

Federal Perkins (NDSL) Student loan through the University Accounting Services , A.M.S. servicing or AFSA
Direct Loans for the Department of Education, through the Direct Loan Servicing Center
Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) for Stafford Bank Loans administered by Sallie Mae, Citibank, Wells Fargo or another lender.

It is NOT necessary to pay the $10 verification fee if your deferrment is through one of the institutions listed above. If your deferrment is not through one of these institutions, it will be necessary to request an official verification and pay the $10 fee.
